Relief and Natural Landscapes

Minnesota has amazing features and landscapes that make its relief unique and impressive. It is characterized by having lakes, rivers, forests, and some elevated areas. Lakes: There are more than 11.800 lakes with glacial origin. Most of them are located in the north. Rivers: Three main rivers run through the state, called the Mississippi, Minnesota, and St. Croix.
Forests: Boreal forest is the most common, made up of pines, firs, and birches. In the central area, there are mostly mixed forests, and the BWCAW is one of the wildest areas in the state.
